Kin and Tonic
2025
This quartet was first registered as a quartet in May of last year after toying with the idea for a short while. The name of the quartet is a play on words because our LEAD singer, Pam Scott, is the youngest daughter of our BARI, Tom Glosick, thus the “kin.” Two other longtime friends, Kandy Getty on TENOR and John Rice as the BASS, joined the mix to help create the “tonic.” The group got off to a great start last September by winning the Seneca Land District’s Mixed Quartet Championship in their very first competition. In 2025 they continued their exploits by becoming the Seneca Land District Seniors’ Quartet Champions!!
Kandy Getty, Tenor---
Kandy was a Sweet Adeline for 20 plus years and has been with the Southern Tier Barbershop Chorus for nearly 4 years. She sings in several chapter quartets and one of them, “Why Not?”, won the Seneca Land District Mixed Quartet Championship this year. Kandy views the opportunity to sing with “Kin and Tonic” as a very exciting challenge.

Pam Scott, Lead---
Pam was involved with the Sweet Adelines chorus in Vestal for over 10 years where she sang Bass, as well as performed in a quartet, “Young and the Reckless”, for over 5 years. She joined the Southern Tier Barbershop Chorus in November of 2023. In May of 2024 she helped form “Kin & Tonic”, where she sings Lead and has the good fortune to sing alongside her Dad, Tom Glosick. In her first ever district quartet competition last September “Kin & Tonic” brought home the championship trophy in the Mixed Quartet category.
Tom Glosick, Bari---
Tom is the baritone singer in this quartet. A 60+ year Barbershopper, he has belonged to chapters in Erie PA, Burlington VT and Binghamton NY. Tom has sung in 4 Championship Quartets among all of those chapters … but his biggest thrill to date is to sing with his daughter, Pam, in “Kin & Tonic.”
John Rice, Bass---
John has been a society member for 35 years, all of them as a member of the Binghamton chapter. He has sung in numerous award winning quartets along the way, but singing in a mixed quartet is a new challenge that he welcomes. He especially likes watching a father and daughter as they work through the music together!
